There are many manufacturers of LED lights out there. If you are confused by your choices, make sure you know the following before you buy:
Are the products MADE IN THE USA? Ours are.
Are the LEDs separate from the lens? Ours are. You do not want the lens and the LEDs to be a single unit. How often have you scratched or cracked a taillight lens? Lens/LED replacement because of a damaged lens is expensive.
Does the company have a lifetime warranty? Ours does.
Do the optics of the lens hide the LEDs when the lights are off? Ours do. Otherwise, the appearance is very unattractive.
Does the lens have UV stabilizers in the plastic so it doesn't turn pink in a year? Ours have UV stabilizers for long life.
Do the LEDs have a wide viewing angle? Some LEDs are very bright as viewed straight on, but appear dim when viewed from as little as 10 degrees off center. This is very unsafe. Our LEDs are full brightness when viewed at 50 degrees, in any direction, off of center.
Does the lens have a built-in reflector? Ours do. The US Department of Transportation has required a reflector on the rear of passenger cars since 1953. This simple safety feature makes the cars much more visible when the lights are off, such as in a parking lot.
